The PACK Gives Back committee oranized its 1st
County Adopt-A-Mile trash pick-up effort on Monday, December
28th. PACK's high school age swimmers, coaches and committee
members embarked on the mile long cleaning extravaganza with
enthusiasm and team spirit. Facing a chilly day and a huge
task, the overall consensus was that working together made the task
seem fun! The swimmers could even be heard commenting on how
wrong it is to litter. Valuable lessons were learned by
all! Stay tuned for your opportunity to help at a future
trash pick-up!
PACK has agreed to maintain a contract with the
County Adopt-A- Mile program and will proudly be responsible for
cleaning our County mile on a quarterly basis. Currently our
mile is located on Spirng Cypress Road between Stuebner-Airline and
TC Jester.
PACK Gives Back is a new committee that was
established in November 2009. Based on the overriding
principles and stategic objectives for our team, this committee
will help instill the life skills and expand the overall
development of the individuals on our team. We plan to
organize some simple ways for our team to help serve the community
and make giving back a part of everyday life within our group and
beyond.
If you have any ideas to share that might be a
way to involve our team with a worthy cause, that would help
instill life skills beyond the water, please contact Lisa Burnett
at lisaburnett@entouch.net.
